George Peddle was Australia’s first Windsor Chair maker. He arrived in Tasmania from England in 1874 and made his chairs through to around 1915.

Jon Grant, who is also from Tasmania will teach this class and provide an insight to the history of this chair and its maker.

Each student will also receive a copy of ‘The Men Who Made the Celebrated Chairs’ by Denis Lake which provides a rich backstory to this unique chairmaking experience.
